I know you (at least occasionally) pop onto our blog, and I hope we're not among the locavore blowhards you're talking about. :)&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;The locavore movement isn't religion, as one of my friends likes to say. It's about becoming more aware. I was buying a lot of things from far away because -- until I joined the Dark Days challenge and really got an incentive to look harder -- I had no idea that local alternatives existed. It's been an eye-opening experience, to say the least.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;Every locavore I know -- even the ones who coined the phrase -- eats and drinks non-local products, out-of-season splurges, and non-organic produce. But the key thing is that they do it as an active choice.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;Do I think less of you for eating non-local mushrooms? Hell no!
